Why Shutters?
Why buy shutters? Here are the top eight things our clients love most about their shutters.
Style
There are no two ways about it, shutters can transform how your home looks and feels. They have an ability to look simple yet beautiful at the same time. They are able to offer light and privacy control beyond any
other solution and somehow make a room seem bigger, lighter and more
peaceful. Blinds and curtains can soon start to look shabby and dated, but shutters seem timeless and look good no matter what the decor.
Light Control
Curtains are either open or closed. Blinds are a little better but have limitations. Shutters offer endless adjustment. From fully closed to opening the panels wide and pretty much everything in between. You can angle the louvre blades in each shutter panel to allow as much or as little light as you need and you can even have a split tilt system and have
the top closed and the bottom open. Nothing beats shutters for light control.
Cleaning
Shutters are easy to clean and low maintenance. Unlike curtains and
blinds, shutters don’t hold dust, dirt or odours, and are hypoallergenic. Simply wipe your shutters with a duster or a damp cloth and they are done. And you won’t be cleaning the inside of the windows anywhere near as
often.
Insulation
Shutters will keep out the heat of the day and at night they can help to reduce heat loss. They also are good for sound insulation and reducing outside noise.
Investment
Unlike curtains and blinds, shutters can last a lifetime. They don't go out of fashion or fade or stop working. If you choose white they will go with any decor so that when you want to spruce things up, you won’t need to
change them. Should you want to sell your home, shutters will help
because everyone loves them!
Operation
Shutters are simple to use. There are no complicated draw strings that break or rails that get stuck. No problems with them falling off the wall. They don’t rattle and don’t get blown around when you want to allow fresh air into your room. They have louvres that tilt and panels that open. It’s as simple as that.
Privacy
Shutters are the best at controlling light and that means they are the best at controlling privacy. Louvres can be angled up or down so you get light and people can’t see in. Split tilt systems are great for bedrooms or
windows at street level and mean you can have the bottom half shut for extra privacy and the top half open for light.
Versatility
Shutters are very versatile. They work in all sorts of windows whether they be square bays, angled bays, french doors or even special shapes. They also work in every type of room; living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. There are lots of choices including colour, materials, frame types, louvre widths, full height, half
height, track systems and so on. All the choice can be confusing but don’t worry because we will help you find the perfect shutter design to suit your needs.
